Hybrid Fighting Method

Before I started teaching martial arts, I was a preschool teacher, child care, and I also taught English as a second language in a kindergarten in southeastern China. Kids are awesome! And even if kids are awesome, if you are a parent, you know very well that their moments! Put it in different nurseries I worked, when it's time for the children their lunch or snack, some would complain that they do not like the amount of food they received. "I want more!" they say.

Our simple answer was kind enough to say: "You get what you get." Certainly, if there is more left after that they had more. But she learned quickly, and even began to tell other children there, that they with what they are welcome to be happy, and that they get what they get!

How does this affect in self-defense training?

Now, many systems and defensive tactics, martial arts, made an attack, then defense, and usually no pre-determined combination of finishing features. For example: "Attacks washing away the defenders. Defender prefers attacker attackers hands simultaneously occur in the groin. Attacks buckles, so that the defenders attackers did control the situation and into a hail of knee strikes."

It would be fantastic if it works this way every time. But do not do it, unfortunately. To train with the result in mind, and focus on that goal, you get in a dangerous place. This is because your brain will be on a set of actions or moves the focus, and if the attacker does not respond the way you expect, your brain responds.

So it's good for the different reactions of the attacker train. Do not be tied to a specific combination or effect. The attacker may not be desirable for the reaction. You get what you get!
